Osteopath writes about NUMSS

Osteopath, Dr. Martin Bouska, DO writes about why he chose to study osteopathy at National University of Medical Sciences (Spain):

…………………………This is the first school I was attending where teachers listen to students and the school grows day by day in its contents……………………… university has provided me with huge amount of techniques in very understandable format……………… We had also learned Andrew Taylor Still techniques, which are original techniques of osteopathy´s founder and Dr Spitler´s Manual mechanotherapy which is now mainly practiced in Ohio by a group of practitioners calling themselves mechanotherpists. The techniques are considered the lost techniques of osteopathy……………………………. I really like my teachers there. Starting with Dr. Pourgol who teaches Mobilizations and Muscle energy techniques, but also business management which made us prepared for business life, marketing , safety and promotions………… We could ask him any time and he answered all the questions either in lectures or online. University staff are very kind and were nice to meet them in person. They helped me with every problem or question I have had. I am happy I chose NUMSS. They prepared me to be skilled manual osteopath, entering the door to osteopathy.

A post from one of our students in Quebec, Canada

Why I chose to Study Osteopathy at NUMSS

NUMSS (Spain) Registration in Madrid

We are planning to offer campus based programs in Madrid (Spain) in near future. To do so we needed to register National University of Medical Sciences with the municipal authorities there to receive the master business license which would permit us to offer on-campus health programs.
We were able to register with Madrid, however authorities there by mistake registered the university as “University of Medical Sciences, Sociedad Limitada” instead of “National University of Medical Sciences, Sociedad Limitada”!

Our lawyer has contacted the ministry there and hopefully the error will be fixed soon.

Testimonial from a Caribbean Island

Thank you, Dr Shahin Pourgol. My naturopathy practice has increase from 4-6 patients a day to 8-10, in the last two and half months since I started using your osteopathy techniques in MET, MOB, FPR. Patients giving me rave reviews in getting better faster and removing their pain. Osteopathy rocks!

Research done on nursing home residents & published in the Journal of American Osteopathic Association indicates that osteopathic lymphatic techniques enhance immune function in elderly adults with diminished mobility.

Osteopathy does Miracle for Mr. Canada

A letter from one of our graduates:

“Medevie Osteopathy's Professional athlete - Loutfi Ajaoun - 2010 Mr. Canada Grand Champion - has recovered from a 25% tendon tear in the Supraspinatus muscle by following my advice and osteopathic treatments once a week for 3 months. The tendon has repaired itself. This is an example of what osteopathy can do for your athletes.

These are the rotator cuff MRI results before and after Osteopathic treatments and aftercare at Medevie Osteopathy and performed by Mark Filipov Osteopath (graduate of National Academy of Osteopathy & National University of Medical Sciences).

My patient believes it is a miracle. I wanted to share with you first and thank you for providing me with the opportunity to help so many people. Thank you Dr. Pourgol!”

The Lost Techniques of Osteopathy

Did you know we (National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) along with NUMSS (USA) and NAO) are the only osteopathy schools teaching the manual mechanotherapy techniques of H. R. Spitler, MD, DC, DO, PhD?

Dr Spitler was a medical doctor, chiropractor, osteopath and optometrist in Ohio, USA who invented a model of osteopathy techniques about a hundred years ago that dealt with soft tissue as well as osseous manual therapy. As his techniques focused mainly on orthopedic conditions of musculoskeletal system, he fell out of favour with the osteopathy leadership of the time and his techniques were not taught in most osteopathic schools.

Manual mechanotherapy is now mainly practiced in Ohio by a group of practitioners calling themselves mechanotherpists. The techniques are considered the lost techniques of osteopathy.
Dr. Daniel Nuzum, NMD, DO (from Ohio, USA) has done six lectures on this technique which is now available for our students to watch at our video server.

To celebrate opening the first and only manual osteopathy university in the United States, in the month of May 2016 we are giving free access to all our updated and new videos to all NAO and NUMSS graduates once they complete an assignment. Contact Rachel or Luary if you wish to receive information on how to get your free user ID and password to our video server.

Study OSTEOPATHY: the Miracle Cure for Disability & Chronic Pain

Six Osteopathy Sessions Decreased Disability & Chronic Pain by over 50% in most patients, researchers find.

Research done by the University of North Texas (USA) finds that 6 Osteopathy sessions (in a period of 2 months) reduced pain and disability by more than 50% in majority of 455 patients evaluated. Research was published in the Journal of American Osteopathic Association (JAOA).

We always keep saying that our popularity and the reason we are Canadian's number one choice for low back pain relief is our ability to treat chronic pain. And this research proves it!

We offer 10 diploma and degree level programs in osteopathy, online as well as on-campus at three schools; National Academy of Osteopathy (Canada), National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) and National University of Medical Sciences (USA). We also offer 24 other programs in physical therapy (DPT), massage therapy (BSc), botanical medicine, athletic therapy, MBA, etc.

We made the biggest news in osteopathy this year by registering NUMSS (USA) in Naples, Florida on March 08, 2016.  This American university is the first and only university offering degree programs in manual osteopathy (a bachelor of science and a PhD)! We keep making history in this profession. NAO was the first and only osteopathy school to be accepted as an affiliate member of Ontario Hospital Association. We registered in 2012 the first and only World Osteopathy Day in 137 years! And got Canada Post to print postal stamps with World Osteopathy Day logo on it.

We helped in getting manual osteopathy recognized as an independent profession in Canada. Under National Occupational Code 3232 (Practitioners of Natural Health) Osteopathic Manual Practitioners is now registered as an independent professional. This permits our students to receive tuition and textbooks tax credit from Canadian Revenue Agency and would help us in getting the profession regulated in Ontario and elsewhere.

Over 50% of Canadian manual osteopaths (except Quebec) have studied with one of our schools. Almost all insurers cover manual osteopathic treatments provided by our graduates. We also got osteopathic coverage for Canadian veterans in Ontario and Quebec.

We count many politicians in Ontario as our osteopathy friends. Premier of Ontario, honorable Kathleen Wynne, Toronto Mayor honorable John Tory, and Ontario minister of Training, Colleges & Universities, honorable Dr Reza Moridi send greetings to our students regularly. Our president Dr Pourgol was invited to Ontario parliament on March 22nd, 2016 by Ontario minister of Training, Colleges & universities where he also met with Ontario Premier and Toronto mayor.

To receive our information package which includes the academic calendars of the 3 osteopathy schools please send an email to admissions@numss.com. You can also our schools websites at www.numss.us, www.numss.com, and www.nationalacademyofosteopathy.com. For more research articles on osteopathy please visit our Osteopathy Related Research and Science Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/osteopathicresearch.

Thank you for making us the largest and most popular schools of manual osteopathy in the world. We teach in 54 countries because of your interest in our programs.

PS. Would you like to see yourself how we do miracles on a daily basis? Book an appointment for one hour of free osteopathic care with one of our interns at National Academy of Osteopathy student clinic located at the York University Heights campus of NAO in Toronto. Call 416-635-6550 to make an appointment or send an email to info@nationalacademyofosteopathy.com
